• • Ceriated tungsten is great for striking an arc with very low amperages.
  • Best suited for welding alloys like titanium, magnesium, copper and low-alloyed steels

TIG Tungsten Electrode Red Color AWS code: EWTH2

• • 2% Thoriated is most common for DC welding of steel and stainless steel.
  • Good overall performance. High durability and low burn of rate.
  • Thoriated electrodes deposit less tungsten into the weld puddle compared to others, resulting in lower weld contamination.

  • Best used for DC applications

Benefits of converting include improved operator safety and easier disposal of tungsten shavings and stubs.
